Welcome, Internet Friend!
Alex Falcone is a fresh, young, moderately attractive comedian living in Portland, OR. Here's just a sample of the cool stuff he does:
- He appeared on the IFC show Portlandia.
- He blogs for the Portland Mercury.
- He's the host and head writer of the live talk show Late Night Action.
- He is the host and producer of the surprisingly popular podcast Read it and Weep, which dissects the worst books, movies, and TV shows.
- He's performed at such awesome festivals as Bumbershoot in Seattle, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, Sketchfest in San Francisco, and the New York City Podfest.
Despite all these amazing accomplishments, he remains totally down to earth and approachable.

May 16 There is nothing more impressive than a stand-up comic: standing up there alone, just a person with a microphone and some jokes. Or in the case of Punchline, a person with a microphone, a nun costume, a locker downstairs, and some jokes(?).
May 8 It's impossible to tell if stuff from your childhood is objectively good, so I'm not going to try with this. But subjectively, A Goofy Movie is a whole lot of fun, despite it's weird dog-hybrid world of race relations.

May 1I'm going to set aside an actual discussion of the pros/cons to adding fluoride to our drinking water because that's what the good people at Clean Water Portland have done. Let's instead look at how they're trying to market their cause.
May 1Over the weekend, I saw numerous stories about how funny the president was at the Press Correspondents Dinner. No surprise there; dude can tell a joke. He's charming and has amazing timing. But what got me was the headlines saying "Obama Funnier Than Conan." You want to actually compare his comedy chops to a comedian? Okay, let's do it.
Apr 30Hate is such a strong word, so I try not to use it very often. Here's a complete list of things I hate: Cupcakes, mermaids, end of list. And mostly I'm just disappointed in cupcakes for being so much worse than real cakes. So really, the only thing I hate is mermaids.
Apr 29I got lots and lots of wedding advice from readers of my hilarious article The Hitching Post and its Blogtown predecessors. Thanks to everybody who commented, e-mailed me, tried to sell me their wedding venue on Twitter, and talked about me on the Portland Weddings Facebook Group.
